VICELLOUS (VI) REON SHANNON (Lesra Martin) began acting eight years ago, and quickly found himself landing guest-starring appearances on such television shows as Touched By An Angel, NYPD Blue, Chicago Hope, Moesha and Party of Five. In 1996, he landed a role as a series regular on the critically-acclaimed ABC series Dangerous Minds.

With the explosion of the teen-movie craze, and an uncharacteristically young face for a 28-year-old, Shannon soon found himself securing feature film work in teen hits such as Mighty Ducks 2 and Can’t Hardly Wait. In 1994, he starred opposite Gregory Hines in the Acad-emy Award‘-nominated short film Kangaroo Court.

Shannon will next be seen in the TNT original film Freedom Song, opposite Danny Glover. Executive produced by Glover and directed by Academy Award‘-nominated screenwriter Phil Alden Robinson, the film is a civil rights drama set in 1961, about the formation of SNCC (Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee), the organization which was at the forefront of the battle to do away with the Jim Crow laws of the south through student protests and voter registration drives.

Shannon is a native of Memphis, TN, but has lived in Los Angeles for most of his life.
